Work on finding your body's limit, and keep working out until you hit that limit. Once your are more able to recognize the limits of your muscles, try to work them to exhaustion. If you must, lower your set length. Try plyometric exercises. These exercises let you create fast-twitching muscle fibers that can help build muscle.
